MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Police body camera video obtained exclusively by Local 10 News on Wednesday shows the moment officers arrested a woman accused of pepper-spraying men at Miami Beach hotels and stealing their luxury watches — including a $22,000 Rolex Submariner.

Esther Maria Torres, 20, of Miami-Dade’s Overtown neighborhood, was arrested back in May on two counts of armed robbery in connection with incidents in March.

Body camera video shows Torres being taken into custody in front of a young child — believed to be her son — who can be heard greeting officers.

“He knows who the police are,” Torres is heard saying in the video as one officer was seen shielding the boy as Torres was placed in a patrol car.

In the March 26 incident at the Breakwater Hotel, police said Torres lured an international tourist back to his room, pepper-sprayed him and took his Hugo Boss watch and wallet.

Four days later, investigators said she used a similar tactic at Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau Hotel, blinding another man before stealing a Rolex Submariner valued at $22,000.

Police say Torres was identified through surveillance footage and a traffic stop in mid-April, when officers pulled over a vehicle tied to one of the robberies. They said a man was arrested, and Torres later showed up at the scene.

Authorities said that led to a “need to identify” flyer being issued—followed by confirmation that Torres was the woman from the stop.

She was taken into custody weeks later and appeared in Miami-Dade bond court, where a judge ordered her held without bond.

Torres’ arrest comes as Miami police deal with a string of similar cases involving women targeting men at upscale hotels.

In a separate investigation, police arrested Rachel Marie Warner, 23, of Las Vegas, who is accused of drugging victims instead of using pepper spray.

Warner is suspected in at least two so-called “bad date” robberies in the city.

Anyone with information on either suspect is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
