Police investigate fatal hit-and-run in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash in northwest Miami-Dade County.

It happened Tuesday night along State Road 7 and Northwest 95th Street, shutting down US-441 in both directions.

A man who had been riding a bicycle was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital following the crash.

Authorities said that man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have yet to provide any information or vehicle descriptions for the suspect, who witnesses said fled north on US-441 after the crash.

A white van observed at the scene belonged to a witness of the crash, who told Local 10 News’ Terrell Forney that he used his van to block traffic in order to protect the injured victim.
