MIAMI — A new report has revealed that a drug deal gone wrong is what led to the murder of Cuban rapper El Taiger last year.
The report details how the rapper, whose real name was Jose Carvajal Zaldivar, got into an argument with his drug dealer, who then shot him in the head.
The 37-year-old was found in the back of an SUV abandoned near Jackson Memorial Hospital. He died from his injuries a week later.
Authorities arrested the suspect, Damian Valdez-Galloso, in New York and then extradited him to Miami.
He has since been charged with first-degree murder.
