Man injured during shooting in Miami’s Overtown

Miami police officers and crime scene techs respond to a shooting on Saturday morning in Overtown.

MIAMI — Police officers were investigating a shooting early Saturday morning that injured a man in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood.

Officer Michael Vega, a spokesman for the Miami Police Department, reported that a man was shot at about 5:25 p.m. at Northwest First Place and 12th Street.

Miami fire rescue personnel responded and took the wounded victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, according to Vega.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
