MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Crews with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service are working to contain several small grass fires that broke out Saturday afternoon along both sides of Krome Avenue, authorities said.

Florida Forest Service officials say the fire has burned approximately 200 acres as of 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Earlier in the day, officials had reported around 25 acres burned.

No injuries have been reported and no structures are in danger, according to authorities.

Authorities said Krome Avenue remains shut down between Southwest Eighth Street and Kendall Drive as a precaution while crews continue working in the area.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
