The singer celebrated the album’s debut Wednesday night in Miami’s Design District while marking five decades in the industry.

Estefan has had hits every single one of her five decades making music.

“I think we need more than ever to be proud of who we are, to truly be proud and out there about who we are and all the things that we’ve brought to this great country,” Estefan said. “‘La Vecina’ was inspired by one of Emilio’s aunts who lives in an apartment building and knows everybody’s business, and then I filmed the video in the place where my mom and I first lived.”

Gloria’s husband of more than 40 years, Emilio Estefan, said “Raices” is a love letter to their life together.

And for Emilio, there’s one very special song – “Como Paso.”

The launch party at Paradise Plaza in the Design District was decked out with Miami Latin royalty, including Local 10’s own Louis Aguirre, who is also Gloria’s longtime friend.

“Gloria is the essence of Miami,” he said. “I mean, she came from the OG band, (which) was the Miami Sound Machine, so she invented what is now known as the Miami sound … you feel her soul with every lyric, with every song.”

Gloria’s new album officially launched at midnight.
